Few places on Earth pack as much raw beauty into one state as Utah. From the Basin and Range deserts in the west to the Rocky Mountains in the northeast and the world-famous redrock canyonlands in the south, Utah has rightly been called the Center of Scenic America.

Earthquakes, volcanoes, and relentless erosion have peeled back the surface layer by layer—revealing billions of years of geologic history in the open, like pages of a book you can walk through.

Sample Narrations:

*If you’re out of cell range, narrations you’ve downloaded will still play, but notifications may not appear. If you don’t receive a notification, simply tap the pin and play the narration manually.

Rock Canyon Hike

Rock Canyon in Provo is one of Utah’s classic spots for hiking and climbing.
Open The Earth features 11 narrated stops that guide you through the first 1.6 km (1 mile) of the canyon, gaining about 170 meters (550 feet) along the way.

We’d love your feedback—should we extend the hike with more narrations?
